For those
people interested in service-learning tourism, GOSESO affords international
fellows the chance to work with Tanzanians to implement our business model
of slow yet steady growth. Fellows engage in daily activities, teach various
subjects, design and implement environmental research projects, and participate
in outreach programs with neighboring villages.
The current capital development plan calls for the increasing the capacity of our guest house, as well as planned camp sites will provide an increased capacity to host visitors.
The equatorial climate of the region permits a year-round tourism program, and we anticipate seasonal occupancy levels nearing 100%. The GOSESO tourism unit recaptures a portion of the economic power of tourism industry, providing training for students (as part-time workers in the tourism program) and helping to wisely develop external resources in a non-exploitive way.
